Gosport & Fareham RFC

The Under 9's at Gosport and Fareham RFC are for Year 4 children. Training session are on Sundays where we muster on the western pitches of Gosport Park, aiming to be there at 09.45 for a 10.00 start. The session lasts for about an hour.

For those returning we will continue to build on what we learnt last season focusing on the core skills of Rugby. New joiners are most welcome to come along as all experience levels are catered for. At this level the whole idea is having fun whilst emphasising Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline and Sportsmanship (TREDS). The U9s also learn how to tackle safely.

At the outset no special equipment is needed, as trainers and sports gear will be enough whilst the weather remains good. Once the ground becomes wetter rugby boots will be needed to prevent slips and slides causing accidents.

Sometimes we will be visiting local teams so please check the Fixtures list for where we are playing.

New joiners can have up to 4 weeks of taster sessions before having to pay fees.
