A great start to the year with a convincing win against Locksheath. Both teams struggled for numbers so we agreed to play 13-a-side to ensure the game went ahead. The Stingrays came out of the blocks on fire, being 12 points up in the first 5 minutes. Locksheath fought hard in the forwards and held their ground with impressive rucking however the Stingrays continued to provide good support to each other with the first half ending with the Stingrays being 31 -5 up.
The second half started where the first left off, again with good support and effort from all. This half the Stingrays concentrated on getting the ball out wide to exploit gaps that were spotted and a raft of tries followed as a result, ending the game winners at 75-12.
We rotated a lot of the players though positions today to build our resilience, something we need as only having 17 on the books, and they all adjusted well and enjoyed the variety of opportunities it gave them.
